Acetone Disposal
Acetone, mixed chemical waste, acids, alkalis and redundant stock collected from businesses across the UK.
How our acetone disposal service works
Acetone waste is usually highly flammable and can quickly create vapour and fire risks if it is stored in open or unsuitable containers. We collect acetone in tins, drums, jerricans, IBCs and lab packs from manufacturing, laboratories, print rooms and maintenance teams.
Our team can also combine acetone collections with compatible solvent and chemical waste streams, reducing vehicle visits while keeping every waste stream classified, labelled and documented correctly.
We collect the waste and take it to a suitable licensed disposal site. Depending on the material, that site may recover it or use another suitable disposal process.
We collect the waste as a licensed waste carrier, using ADR drivers where required, and take it to a licensed disposal site operating under the appropriate permit or exemption.

Acetone disposal FAQs
Common questions for commercial and industrial sites. If your stream is unusual, call 0845 366 9306 for advice.
Is waste acetone hazardous waste?
Yes. Waste acetone is normally hazardous because it is highly flammable and may also contain dissolved residues from cleaning, coatings or laboratory work.
Can acetone go down the drain?
No. Acetone should not be poured to drain or evaporated intentionally. It should be stored in closed compatible containers and collected for disposal.
What paperwork comes with acetone disposal?
The relevant collection paperwork is prepared and provided for your records, including HWCNs.
Can you advise on the correct waste code?
Our team reviews labels, safety data sheets, container condition and the process that produced the waste so we can arrange the right collection and destination site.
Do containers need to be labelled before collection?
Containers should be closed, sound and labelled with the contents where known. If labels are missing or damaged, send photographs and we will advise before the vehicle is booked.
How quickly can you collect?
Most collections are planned within a few working days after the quote is accepted. Urgent removals can be arranged where the waste and collection requirements allow.
Need a chemical waste collection?
Send the waste details, quantity, full collection address and photographs. We will confirm the collection plan and price before booking.
